Best Facial Oils for Dry Skin:
The best facial oils for dry skin, glowing skin and acne skin were based on the following criteria:
–Longer shelf life: many oils can go rancid fairly quickly, especially when you are just dealing with oil. When a facial oils is manufactured with many other ingredients then it tends to keep at least one year to a year and a half. Nut oils tend to go rancid fairly quickly. So the oils I go over in the video have a longer shelf life. The best oils for dry skin, glowing skin, and acne tend to have a higher percentage of antioxidants such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E which also helps slow down oxidation to keep the oil from going rancid too quickly.
–Easier to Acquire: Some of the facial oils that I did evaluate were more expensive and not readily available so I wanted to list the best facial oils that had the highest amount of beneficial ingredients but ALSO were able to easily purchase.
–High Absorption Rate-these oils not only had a wider range of beneficial ingredients but also had a high absorption rate than other oils.
–Rated low on the Comedogenic Scale-these oils also had to rate VERY LOW for clogging the pores.
Oleic Acid vs Linoleic Acid
Oleic Acid tends to be thicker and stays on top of the skin. This is more beneficial for Dry skin. It has occlusive properties so it can keep moisture from escaping the skin.
If you have dehydrated skin and need MORE added moisture ,then these types of oils will NOT add any additional moisture to the skin.
There is a DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRY vs DEHYDRATED SKIN. If you find yourself having to keep adding thick creams or lotion on dry skin but it does NOT seem to help, you may have dehydrated skin and this skin condition NEEDS TO BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY. FIND OUT HERE:
How to Treat Dry vs Dehydrated Skin
This oil just keeps the moisture from evaporating from the skin. Because it does sit on TOP of the skin, oils that are higher in Oleic acid may tend to clog pores in some skin types.
This type of oil tend to be better for Dry skin that does NOT produce enough oil on its own or Alipoid skin types.
These oils also have a longer shelf life.
Best Facial oils for Glowing Skin, Oily skin (not break out prone):
The best facial oils for glowing skin and oily skin may be better suited for oils that are higher in Linoleic Acid. These types of oils have a lighter, thinner and consistency.
